A unique motoring holiday at the Brno exhibition grounds

Already this weekend, the unique Brno Revival Between Pavilions will take place at the Brno Exhibition Center. More than 160 sports or racing historic cars and motorcycles will be presented to the audience in short rides.

Between the pavilions of the Brno exhibition center, car and motorcycle races took place almost regularly even before the Second World War. Their golden era came in the late fifties and especially in the sixties. Another fifty years have passed and the races are returning to the fairgrounds as Brno Revival Mezi pavilony.

Lovers of pre-war technology can look forward to driving a separate category of Bugatti cars, but also several racing cars such as Salmson Grand Sport, Wikov 7/28 S and MG Magnette. Aero 750 Sport Coupé and Z4 specials built for the Czechoslovak 1000 Mile race in 1934 will show off their graceful aerodynamic shapes. At that time, Rudge, Norton and BMW brands dominated the tracks of motorcycle races, whose representatives we will see this weekend at the Brno exhibition grounds. Several famous Rudge Ulster machines, a racing Norton CS1 and also a treat in the form of the 350 Excelsior Manxman from 1936 will be starting.

The Jawa 500 OHC, ČZ Walter or ESO racing machines will remind us of the famous era of Czechoslovak motorcycles. The culmination of the development of racing motorcycles in our country was the road 350 Jawa type 673 from 1967, which with its maximum speed of 260 km/h was the fastest 350 in the world championship. Mr. Antonín Kružík will demonstrate this machine to us at the Brno exhibition center. At the Brno Revival, there will not be only famous motorcycles among the pavilions. The multiple champions of Czechoslovakia in road motorcycle races, Mr. Bohumil Staša and Mr. Peter Baláž, will also come, who will also start with the Jawa P250 motorcycle from 1975, with which he rode to the title of national champion. Racing sidecar rides will certainly be an extraordinary experience, especially the almost artistic performances of the passengers on pre-war machines.

Formula racing is considered the queen of motorsport. At the Brno Revival Mezi pavilony event, we will see several dozen Formula 3 cars, whose races at the Brno Exhibition Center between 1964 and 1967 were one of the most watched domestic motoring events. We will see directly the formulas that drove here fifty years ago, and in several cases the same pilots will be behind the wheel! In addition to Messrs. Buchberger, Mencl and Křivohlavý, who collected wreaths in Formula 3 races, it will be possible to meet other legends of Czechoslovak motoring. Visitors can look forward to meeting the circuit racing star of the 1970s, Josef Michl, or one of our most successful drivers in the European Touring Car Championship series, Břetislav Eng. Mr. Enge will drive the original Škoda 130RS factory racing car from 1978 in the Brno Revival between the pavilions.
