Amos Krejčí's ride

On Friday July 4th the cars competing at the Brno Grand Prix Revival will pass through part of the original Masaryk circuit up to Náměstí Svobody in Brno, where they will be displayed for the fans. The organizers from the Czechoslovak Automobile Club for Moravia and Silesia and the Automotodromo Brno dedicated the race to Amos Krejčí, a motoring journalist who connected his life precisely with the Masaryk circuit. On July 4, exactly two years will pass since the sudden death of Amos Krejčí.
The cars will be exhibited for a few tens of minutes from 19:45 at Náměstí Svobody in Brno, where they will arrive via the route through Žebětín, Farinova zátáčka, Kohoutovice and the Hlinka intersection. The public can thus see the motorcade even at the famous places of the original race track. "Above all, the passage of the motorcade through the Farin bend will undoubtedly be a wonderful experience and a memory of the times when there was real racing on the track." organizer Karel Kupka advises fans where to go to see the convoy of historic cars.

Come on Friday 7/4/2014 at 6 p.m. to unveil the monument to Amos Krejčí at Farina's bend. After 7 p.m., a convoy of racing vehicles will pass by in the direction of Náměstí Svobody, and then around 8:30 p.m. the machines should return to okruh.mapa on Mapy.cz

Amos Krejci
26/11/1945 – 4/7/2012

These days we commemorate two years since the journalist and motoring enthusiast Amos Krejčí left this world.
A number of sports journalists in the era before the advent of Internet search engines solved their information deficit in a simple way - by calling Amos. He carried motoring history in his head and never had a problem sharing his knowledge. He had a gift from God that he could write about motoring in a way that was not only factually correct, but also engaging and readable.
Amos was knowledgeable in all motoring disciplines. Roads, terrain, cars, motorcycles, sidecars, etc. But his favorite thing was the Masaryk Circuit. First the old one, then after 1987 the new automotodrome on Kývalka.
It used to be a typical picture - Amos in the press center typing on a typewriter, surrounded by the so-called "Amos women", which were the girls that Amos brought in to ensure the organization and running of the press center. You can still see many of them in these places today. Amos Krejčí was a respected figure among competitors of several generations, from the old masters (e.g. Sir Jackie Stewart) to young guns like Karel Hanika jr. He also wrote about them in a periodical aptly named Masec.
After leaving the automotodrome, Amos joined the Forsage agency, where he collaborated on the organization of their events. Amos Krejčí's life was completely filled with motoring. On Friday, we remembered Amos by driving racing cars to the center of Brno.
